I saw these adorable Illume candles at Anthroplogie. I love the simple can packaging and botanical illustrations. They smell wonderful too. I thought these would make a fun do it yourself holiday gifts as well. All you would have to do to make these would be; use old soup cans, spray paint them matte gold, melt, scent and pour candles and design your own festive holiday labels. Viola!

Brooklyn Flea Gift Ideas
I was recently at the Brooklyn Flea and they had some very cute gift ideas for the designers in your life. Illustrated Four Season tea towels by Claudia Pearson, Land Sea and Air animal pillows by Kate Durkin and Milk Bottle vases by Alyssa Ettinger.
Burt's Bees Packaging
I am a huge fan of natural beauty products. Unfortunately, many times the natural products packaging leaves something to be desired. Clorox bought natural products company Burt's Bees in 2007. I think they have done an excellent job with the launch of their new sensitive product line. The product definitely seems elevated from older Burts Bees products and the soft color palette and simple illustrations speak to the purity and naturalness of the products. I am definitely tempted to buy!
Designer Pumpkins
I thought these pumpkin designs were cool and different. Who says pumpkins have to be orange? Good inspiration for the coming Holiday!
Floral Motifs
I love the use of these old fashioned floral motifs. I think one of the most challenging things for a designer to do is to make something old look new again. Well done!
Merimekko New York
I am so happy Merimekko has opened a new flagship store on 23rd Street in New York (right next to Eatly). I have long been inspired by Merimekko's playful and innovative use of patterns and colors. They are always so cheerful and uplifting. And now I can go browse a whole store full of them!
Packaging Garbage
Proof that good packaging can really sell anything. Justin Gignac a New York City based artist began selling New York garbage in 2001 to prove to a co-worker the significance of packaging design. Justin has since sold 1,300 of his garbage cubes in 29 countries!

Beauty Packaging Design Benefit
Benefit came out with the cutest packaging for their new skincare line. I love the retro vintage feel it has and the accompanying ad graphics are really fun too.
